Disclosure: this site is funded by KinesteX, which sells a motion-tracking SDK that competes with Sency. So every figure below is copied from Sency's own pages and repositories, the comparison section holds KinesteX to the same test as everyone else, and nothing here ranks KinesteX first. Sency's pricing pages were read on October 17 and 18, 2026 through a text reader, because the part of the page our snapshot tool extracts holds only a contact form; every quoted passage is re-checked against Sency's live page by an automated quote check.
What Sency charges for#
Sency prices its SencyMotion SDK by monthly active user. Its pricing pages define one as "one of your users who actively uses Sency's SDK", with an example: a platform with 10,000 users of whom 2,000 use the SDK in a month is charged for 2,000. Each unique user is counted once per month however often they use it, and Sency says it does not charge "any additional fees for heavy usage per user". Every plan lists unlimited monthly activities.
The plans#
As listed on Sency's pricing packages page on October 18, 2026:
| Plan | Price | Monthly active users | What the plan lists |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter ("Build & Launch") | Free | Up to 100 | $0 per active user, unlimited monthly activities, full access to the SencyMotion SDK, standard customer support |
| Growth ("Publish & Monetize") | From $499 a month | Up to 3,800 | $0.79 per active user, unlimited monthly activities, full SDK access, premium customer support, branded UI |
| Customized ("A Solution for All") | On request ("Let's Discuss") | Unlimited | An optimized price per active user, a dedicated support team, a tailored solution |
One thing the page does not explain is how the Growth figures combine: it shows "From $499 / month", "Up to 3,800 monthly active users" and "$0.79 per active user" side by side without saying whether the per-user rate is charged on top of the base, counts against it, or applies above some number of users. Ask before you model a bill.
Two Sency pages that describe the start differently#
Sency's main pricing page, read on October 17, describes the entry path in a different way. It says you can integrate "at no cost during the free trial", that "after that, you'll start paying a minimal monthly fee to continue building and testing, which includes access for up to 100 active users", and that above 100 unique active users usage is billed "on a pay-as-you-go basis according to the rates listed on our pricing page". The packages page calls the first 100 active users free; the main page calls them a paid tier after a trial. Both pages agree on the unit and on unlimited activities. We cannot tell from the pages which one is current, so get the answer in writing before you rely on the free tier for a launch.
Branded UI, kits and keys#
- Branded UI. Sency's FAQ says branded UI, the ability to customize, adjust or remove its default interface, "is available for every Kit except the Exploration Kit". The Growth plan lists "Branded UI for your business"; the Starter plan does not list it. Neither page says which plan the Exploration Kit belongs to.
- Getting a key. The SDK README says to register "a new client for free" for demo access and an API client key, and that the key arrives "automatically in a response email after you subscribe to one of our plans". The pricing pages' contact form says Sency then invites you to schedule a call.
- Licence. The LICENSE file in Sency's repositories is its Terms of Use, last updated in September 2022, which says any commercial or production use is governed by a separate paid service agreement. Plan in a contract, not just a checkout.
- Integration help. The main pricing page lists free integration guidance and says integrating the SDK is the partner's responsibility, with Sency sharing best practices; it also cites a record of 54 minutes from installing the SDK to a working assessment in a partner's app, which is a speed claim, not a price.
How it compares with other motion SDKs#
Units differ, so compare on your own numbers rather than on headline prices:
- QuickPose bills per monthly active device: free for 10 devices, then $25 a month for up to 100 devices rising to $1,000 a month for up to 100,000, every SDK feature on every plan. Its paid entry is far cheaper than Sency's Growth plan; Sency's free Starter covers more users than QuickPose's free tier, if the packages page is the one that applies. See QuickPose pricing and QuickPose vs Sency.
- Kemtai publishes no prices on the pages we fetched and routes buyers to a demo request.
- KinesteX, which funds this site, publishes no prices either. Its FAQ describes usage-based plans priced per active user per month that fall as you reach new tiers, and says integration fees may apply.
- Free pose models such as MediaPipe and MoveNet cost nothing to license; you pay in the engineering Sency packages. Build vs buy for AI motion tracking sets out that trade.
If the unit, the two-page ambiguity or the separate service agreement rules Sency out, the realistic options are in Sency alternatives.
Before you budget#
Model the bill on monthly active users of the SDK, not total accounts. Then ask Sency three things in writing: whether the first 100 active users are free or covered by a paid monthly fee, how the Growth plan's $499 base and $0.79 per-user rate combine, and what the separate service agreement adds. Every figure here is as Sency's pages showed it on October 17 and 18, 2026; re-open both pages before you commit. For how Sency's SDK compares with ours, see KinesteX vs Sency, which carries this site's disclosure.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Sency free to use?
- It depends on which of Sency's pages applies. Its pricing packages page lists a free Starter plan for up to 100 monthly active users with full access to the SencyMotion SDK. Its main pricing page instead describes a free trial, after which a minimal monthly fee covers up to 100 active users and usage above that is pay-as-you-go. Ask Sency which one is current before you plan a launch on the free tier.
- What counts as an active user in Sency's pricing?
- One of your users who actually uses Sency's SDK in the month. Sency's example is a platform with 10,000 users of whom 2,000 use the SDK, which is charged for 2,000. Each unique user is counted once per month regardless of how many times they use it, and Sency says it charges no extra fees for heavy usage per user.
- How much does Sency's Growth plan cost?
- Sency's pricing packages page lists Growth from $499 a month for up to 3,800 monthly active users, with $0.79 per active user, premium customer support and the branded UI. The page shows those figures side by side without saying how the base price and the per-user rate combine, so get a written quote for your expected user count.
- Does Sency's free plan include the branded UI?
- The Starter plan does not list it; the Growth plan lists branded UI for your business. Sency's FAQ says branded UI is available for every kit except the Exploration Kit, but neither pricing page says which plan the Exploration Kit belongs to, so confirm what your plan includes with Sency.
